Our School Day 

 

Terrific 4 Twos (Little Doves): 

• Afternoon: 12.30pm – 3.30pm

Nursery: ​

• Morning: 8.45am – 11.45am 

• Afternoon: 12.30pm – 3.30pm 

Reception, KS1 and KS2: 

• 8.45 am: (Doors open and staff receive pupils in class in Reception, KS1 and KS2) 

• 8.55-9.00 am: Morning registration 

• 10.05-10.25 am: Assembly/ PSHE (Y1-6)

• 11.15-11.30 am: Morning break (Y1-6)

• 12.35-1.30 pm: Lunch (Reception lunch 12.05pm - 1.05pm) 

• 1:30-1.35 pm: Afternoon registration (Reception 1.05pm – 1.10pm) 

• 3.25pm: School finishes for Reception, KS1 and KS2

This equates to a six-and-a-half-hour day (32.5 hours per week)

Arrival and Departure Times and Locations

Pupils should go straight to their classes at the start of the school day and not onto playgrounds. Doors will open at 8:45am and will remain open until 8:55am when the school day begins.

Doors to be used are as follows:

Little Doves – Pupils should use the door to the Little Doves Unit across the Early Years Garden, which can be accessed via the blue gate adjacent to the main entrance. Little Doves will need to be collected from the same door at the end of their session. Please note that afternoon sessions begin at 12:30pm and finish at 3:30pm.

 

Nursery – Pupils should use the door to the Nursery classroom, which again can be accessed via the blue gate adjacent to the main entrance. Nursery children will need to be collected from the same door at the end of their session. Please note that morning sessions finish at 11:45am; afternoon sessions begin at 12:30pm and finish at 3:30pm.

 

Reception – Pupils should use the door on the KS1 playground which was the previous entry point for the Children’s Centre. A teacher will be waiting to take them down to their Reception classroom. The KS1 playground can be accessed via the orange gate in the corner of the playground.

 

KS1 and KS2 – All pupils should access their classrooms via individual classroom doors apart from Year 1/2 and Year 2.  Please note that for Year 1/2, the large gate in the corner, between the caretaker’s house and the car park, will be open so that pupils can walk along the paved pathway to the KS1 cloakroom door to enter the school building.

 

All classes will dismiss from the same doors at 3:15pm (apart from Little Doves and Nursery). Pupils from Year 5 and 6 are permitted to walk home alone from week 2 of the term, once a consent letter has been returned to staff.

 

Your child will be sent out to you as soon as the member of staff who is responsible for dismissing the children calls them, because of safety, if you are unable to collect your child for any reason at the end of any session, we ask that you contact the school to advise the name of the person who will be collecting your child.

Lunchtimes

Lunchtime for Reception Class is: 12:05pm - 1:05pm

Lunchtime for Key Stage 1 and 2 is: 12:35pm - 1:35pm
