On Tuesday 20th October, children from Key Stage 2 were visited by Cathie Sabin, the first ever female President of the Lawn Tennis Association.
Mrs Sabin watched as a group of children took part in a tennis lesson provided by Richard Wheeler from Sports4U, a company who provide tennis lessons to all age groups. The children thoroughly enjoyed this lesson and have all continued to display a keen interest in the sport.
Following the lesson, the children had a chance to ask Mrs Sabin questions about her role in British tennis and learned about the Davis Cup Final which Great Britain had reached for the first time in nearly 40 years. The children handed over a good luck card from the school, which Mrs Sabin promised to share with Andy Murray and the rest of the British Davis Cup Team.
Since her visit, Great Britain have won the Davis Cup (beating Belgium in the final) and Mrs Sabin has sent some photos of our good luck card with members of the playing team and coaching staff!
Congratulations Team Great Britain!
